SSC Examination Overview
“The Three Stages in the SSC Exam”
The first paper known as Tier I will cover a wide variety of topics ranging from General Intelligence and Reasoning to English Comprehension. This first step needs to be well-prepared for, if you want to go further in your quest for a government job. This 2 hour paper is held in one session and you are marked on a total of 200 marks.
Tier II of the SSC examination is subjective in nature and held over a period of two days. There are a total of three papers, though you might just have to sit for two depending on the post you are applying for. At this stage, the candidates are tested on their in-depth knowledge of Arithmetic and English Language.
The Personality Test and/or Interview are the last step in the entire process. However, it doesn’t mean that you can relax. The interviewers will be looking for candidates who are sharp and can answer questions directly and in the right manner. The maturity of an individual is brought to the forefront at such interviews.”

Selection Procedure & Eligibility
The application process of SSC CGL will start from May Every Year. Candidates to eligible for the exam must fulfil the necessary eligibility criteria. Applicants before applying must read the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria carefully to ascertain their age limit, educational qualification, physical standards, nationality prescribed for the exam. Candidates who does not meet the basic requirement of the eligibility norms will be summarily rejected from the recruitment process. Candidates whose age is between 18 to 32 years and hold a graduation degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university can apply for the exam.

Objective Type Questions are asked from all the sections of the syllabus. No. of questions may differ from exam to exam. Final merit is prepared on the basis of performance in written test (Objective Type), Skill Test, Interview and physical test as per set norms according to the particular exam. In all major exams negative marking of 0.25 is applied, so you are advised to read the instructions carefully and attempt questions wisely. # Minimum educational qualification is Graduation or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university.
